PETE STENNING  As it was a bank holiday here yesterday, I managed to do a few laps in the afternoon to get familiar with the BRM. I tried a GH2 setup but the gearbox was odd so I compared it with the default & found that to be much easier to drive.
I set a new pb in quali with the default setup, even taking pole for a minute! The car felt really good, I was amazed! It was looking good for staying on the lead lap for a change as my pit slot was at the front, but I think I lost another lap as I was in front of the start line. So despite having a great time chucking the BRM around Mexico & (as I thought) unlapping myself, I still ended up a lap down. The race history graph shows it & the laptime was over 3mins, explains why I was being blue flagged for MartinG, grrrrr :(
Bad luck to MikeR too, he suffered the same as me.
Congrats to Rich on his maiden victory, Laszlo for wraping up the title & Pete for yet another podium.

LAURIE CLEMO  Having made a complete mess of my entry in the Div 2 Albi race last week I was determined to get this, the last DivFree race, right.
As soon as the flag dropped I had to swerve to avoid Pete, who seemed to be stationary, and set off in pursuit of Will and Laszlo.
Whatever had delayed Peter at the start didn't last long and he was soon looming large in my mirrors and a mistake at the hairpin on L2 gave him the chance to pass me. From then until I went off at Virage du Parc on L5 I stayed in touch with Pete, who was driving faultlessly. I could still see Pete in the distance on the long straight but on L8 another off at the hairpin saw him vanish into the distance followed by Alan, DC and Gez. Pribluda was already telling me that VB was catching me fast and by the time I reached Virage du Parc he was filling my mirrors. Normally I would have moved over to let him pass but as we approached the start/finish line I saw Laszlo leaving the pits just a couple of seconds ahead and it crossed my mind that I could possibly pick up a another position if I could catch and pass him. So with VB breathing down my neck I desperately hung on to Laszlo as best I could and at the hairpin on L10 he spun
and I was through. Throughout L11 I could see VB followed by Laszlo in my mirrors but believing Will and Pete were the only DivFree drivers ahead of me I was determined to hang on to my 3rd position.
As we started the final lap and approached T1 both VB and Laszlo suddenly disappeared from view and I was able to relax a little and made it safely to the finish. It was only after I crossed the line that I realised that Will was actually behind me and I had not only finished 5th in the race but was actually 2nd in the DivFree race – my first ever podium finish.
Congratulations to Pete for his 1st place (faultless drive) and commiserations to Will and Laszlo for their bad luck. Again I was
grateful to the D1 and D2 guys who were so careful not to interfere with my race especially VB who, I suspect, could have passed me if he had wanted to. If I caused anyone a problem please accept my
apology, but be prepared for more next season when I hope to take part in all the DivFree races. I love the 65's and 69's but driving the 67's is such a challenge that even finishing a race brings me great satisfaction.
